Not an incoming but as close as I've been

Got invited to a Patek event at my AD, asked if had any BLRO's in the safe I could see in person.

It's reserved for someone and not my turn yet, but it was what I needed to confirm I will definitely want it when it's available and loved it on the wrist.

I look forward to your own incoming thread. It’s a solid steel stunner in person. Especially on ones own wrist

It’s worth waiting for if it’s the reference you love! It’s an awesome watch.

Maybe it’s just me, but if I was the person that watch was reserved for, and I was buying new, I’d be rather annoyed that they were letting other random people try it on before I picked it up.

Or is this the new normal, and every in demand piece is effectively a display/ex demo?

Same with cars, if I buy new, nobody but factory and dealer delivery staff should drive it before me, and even buying used, once I’ve paid my money and signed a purchase contract, it should be put away until I pick it up...

SOoO many watches SOoO little time...

when at a patek event, asking for the blro? hmmm. my interest there would have been for a WG or SS aquanaut. but, hey that's me.

(btw, good luck securing the blro, i love mine. it's a beautiful, iconic reference.)

I agree also. Few years back an AD in Seattle asked if I wanted to try on a 116500LN that was being held for someone when I inquired about one. I said I'd love to see it but didn't want to try on someone else's watch. Was a beauty for sure.

My wife was looking at jewelry and we were just catching up with my SA.

Before we left I thought I would just try my luck as it's the watch I'm waiting for and it worked. I agree with what you say but if it was myself who's watch it was intended for I wouldn't be bothered as long as it wasn't dropped etc but that's just me. I do get where your coming from though
