Storage of watches and paperwork
Hi all tried to find some threads about this but cannot.
I would like to know how do people store their watches and paperwork? At the moment I just keep in watch box for my watches but I would like to storage each watch separately and keep with papers. I see that a lot of watch dealers use plastic pouches for the watch + card because it saves space and no need to use original box. Any idea where these items can be found? Thank you! |

I got a wood box for my watches. Original packaging gets tucked in the back corner of my closet.

Watches have their own watch box. Papers and all accessories get shoved in an ammo can in my closet.

Paperwork, extra links, etc. all back in the original boxes just in a plastic tote in the basement. Watches mostly in a wall cabinet in the walk in closet, maybe in the safe if out of town but no delusion that my safe will do much other than slow them down. Especially since its in the basement with every tool you'd want to breech it.

My watches, their paperwork, other important paperwork, and various other items go in my safe that will protect the contents even if the house flat out burns to the ground. Especially if you have a lot of watches, I highly, highly recommend investing in a true, proper safe.

I put my watches in watch rolls and then in the safe. Papers are also put in the safe and boxes get tucked away in the closet.

Watches on winders in a safe. Paperwork in another safe. Boxes (some with note inside to remind me which watch goes in it) in a metal cabinet at a different location.

I like your plan! Can you PM where you found the watch rolls? They looks well made.

I keep papers in small fireproof safe. Watches on watch roll or if long term storage the old Rolex plastic coffins are best. Good for other brands too!

My watch sits in the watch box with the papers. I used to put it on a wonder but was paranoid it would stretch the bracelet since it’s not a pillow design. I plan on getting a sage soon where I will probably store my boxes or at least the paperwork in addition to my watches

Watches go inside padded Watchpods, which go inside airtight metal ammo cans with silica gel packets, which go inside a fire resistant safe that is bolted to the concrete floor. Papers/cards also go in the ammo cans inside the safe. Watch boxes go in the closet.

I keep all of the paperwork and boxes together and have 4 xlarge safety deposit boxes at the bank. It's climate controlled and I assume pretty safe there.
I drop a watch off and take a new one at the bank which lowers my risk. I have to go the bank regardless for my business. Joe |

Just as an FYI, the contents in safety deposit boxes at banks in the USA are NOT insured. The risk is not from loss due to burglary, but rather by loss due to misappropriation of contents or keys or lease holder documentation by the bank itself. It happens with alarming frequency, and the box lessee has little to no recourse after the fact.

Our watches are in their original boxes in our safe, boxed with all their accessories.
We only need to access each box about once a year for placing watches into rotation. The paperwork, sales receipts, appraisals, various tech and/or information articles that we have as extra material, is stored in a dedicated 9" X 12" folder that is labeled for and accompanies each watch. Fortunately we have the room to accommodate such things. No way could we accommodate the travel, banking hours, holidays, and weekend closures that go along with safety deposit boxes.
