1675 - long E handset

Got in this lovely 1675 in but clear that the minute and hour hands have been replaced in the past - the minute hand is too long for the dial and cuts overlays the markers.

Seems original handsets are hard to come by

A shame as I like the rest of the watch

Not sure what to do …

Hands look fine to me. If they glow like the dial I would think they are original to the watch. Can you share a picture head on without angle?

As far as I am aware the minute hand should be shorter and stop at the start of the dial indices

Hello Miccro. Here are a couple Mark I GMTs for comparison. I would agree the minute hand on your watch is too long.

It could possibly be a minute hand from an Explorer 1016. If the lume matches the other hands and the dial I wouldn’t stress it. More weird things have been seen on watches from the 60’s. I would not touch them if they match.

If hands does not match eachother and the dial I would be inclined to say they are changed later.
