Royal Oak 15450st opinions

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping to pick up my first AP very soon. A blue dial 15450st. I can not wait! It’s a watch I’ve been after for many years, 6 in fact since I originally enquired. I want to know your thoughts on the watch, is it under appreciated in the watch world, for small wrists like myself, I feel this is the best Royal Oak on the market, with the trend for watches going smaller does this deserve more love?

I am no expert but have a 6.5 inch wrist. Decided to give the 15450ST a go as most people thought the 41 inch would be too large. I think it looks about right. Maybe a 39mm would be just perfect. Picture taken this morning :)

I don't know if any Royal oak is under appreciated today.
At retail, the 15450s are lovely. I've long been a fan of smaller ROs (36 and 37mms). I think you cannot go wrong with a blue 15450. I'd never pay $40K for one though.
Congrats in advance!

You see, I think on your wrist that fits fantastic. A 15500 would be far too big. I feel the 15500 gets far more love, but I wonder how many people it is actually out of proportion on their wrist.

And yes, a 39mm May be perfect. But I feel that watch is like an F1 car. It’s not practical at all but I would love one, one day. Probably wouldn’t replace my 15450 I’m getting though, it would be as well as.

15202 is probably the perfect RO but it's impossible to get so people with smaller wrists are stuck with limited options. i've had the 15450 for 1.5 years and have no regrets. love the watch and it's nice to see it finally get the attention it should've had

The 15450st is a perfect size, fits similar to a Rolex Daytona. Purchased one back in May and couldn't be happier with it.

I have 6.5” wrist. Started with the 15400 but it was too big. 15450 is perfect

I feel, for the average sized wrist, the 15450 is such a better option. It would not surprise me if they start encroaching on the 41mm RO's price territory on the grey market soon.

Beautiful watch.

It's a great watch - 6 years is quite the wait, though.

Looks great on your wrist I also have about a 6.5 wrist size and am certain 39 is too big for me, and from what I understand, might feel even larger with the RO proportions. I biggest watch I have is a 39mm from Omega that I got in grad school... it always has felt too large for me.

15450ST is good timepiece and popular among people with 6.5" wrist and smaller. I don't think it is under appreciated.

Where did you get the idea that the trend is going for smaller watches?

Just got mine a few weeks ago. Absolutely perfect for my 6.5in wrist. I’ve tried on the 15500st and can pull it off, but the 37mm is the preferred sizing with the integrated bracelet consideration. Pic below.

Hope you can get yours soon!

It’s a lovely reference indeed. I think it was under appreciated during the time when AP marketed it as a ladies watch. Ironic, considering how many men find it to be a great mid-size option. I’d argue, it’s a hot reference these days valued at 20k over msrp for the blue. And agree it wears like a 39mm Rolex.

I do think the midsize RO is getting more attention and appreciation recently

It’s a terrific watch and a great fit for lots of folk. It was under-appreciated, but not any longer. There are some that still can’t get over the numbers and are obsessed by size, but for anyone with a wrist size if 7” or less, it’s an utterly brilliant watch.
