As well as J Farren-Price, there is also The Hourglass, Swiss Concept, and LK Jewellery. There are all located in the centre of the city.

I've found that Swiss Concept in Pitt St have always been good to me with varying discounts depending on the model. But I would ask everywhere , you will be surprised how flexible even ADs can be, particularly in the current economic climate.
If you are interested in near new or second hand try Fredman SVW in Strand Arcade Pitt St.

I'm pretty sure the would give disc if you pay cash.
I guess even higher discount if you buy TT or SG model
