Explorer 124270 ok for me?
Hi.
I am new to the forums, but been dreaming about my first Rolex for a long time. I have always liked the Explorer. The history, simplicity, and that it fits my active way of life.. My local AD let me try it on the other day. Probably not the best pictures, but do you think it looks good on my 7" wrist ? I know it all comes down to my opinion, but would highly appreciate the opinions from the watch knowledgeable persons in this forums :) I have attached a pic of my BB58 (39mm) and Seiko Presage (41,3mm) for reference. Looks nice if you’re going for the classy small watch look.

I think that the 36mm 124270 fits you very well. Of course, the fit is a bit less "sporty" than with your slightly larger BB58, but that gives you some variety in the collection if these were to coexist.
My wrist is a similar size to yours and I have a 214270; I think we can get away with going either direction, depending on what you're looking for. I like the more sporty 39mm in the Exp but am eyeing up a 36mm DD for less casual settings. YMMV. Good luck! |

You can never go wrong with a 36mm Explorer.

Looks great. But how do YOU like it? Your opinion is the only one that counts.
Ignore all the folks who think you need to take up as much real estate as possible. If you can read the time clearly and quickly, it’s not too small. Slightly smaller is far more comfortable day in and day out anyway. |

Fantastic. Seems your only issue should be actually getting one…

it's a matter of preference, you're in a lucky group that can pull off either the 39mm 214270 or this new 124270... a lot also depends on build, hand to wrist ratios etc. but ultimately it's whatever you like, if u don't find yourself enjoying it, doesn't hurt to trade into a 39mm
