214270 for a 114060?

So I’m looking for some opinions from the group. I got to try on a 114060 a few days ago and I now have the urge to trade my 214270 in for one. I’m a one watch guy so keeping the explorer isn’t on the radar since the prices have sky rocketed on the 40mm subs. Is it plausible to think that my 2017 214270 mkii plus maybe 2-3 grand cash to boot would suffice for a decent ceramic sub?

Sounds plausible to me - "trading up" for minimal cash. Maybe you can get that cash back in a couple years and trade again??

Well seems to me that prices have also "sky rocketed" on the 214270 since it was discontinues in April of this year. However - if you want a the sub get the sub.

I’ve been debating a similar move myself, consolidating an Explorer and an Omega PO chrono into a Submariner. 4 watches is a sweet spot for me, and now that there are 5 in the collection I’ve been thinking about it more.

I’d trade mine for an explorer ii 2 series plus 2k but not an explorer I. Lovely as that watch is.

Don’t trade!
Keep the Exp mark II and buy the Sub as well.

Value of the 214270 have definitely spiked with the discontinuation of the 39mm case size. I say go for it!
