Pro-tip: How to quickly identify Explorer 1 versions

Folks, I know most people here are experts and can quickly identify these, but especially on pictures that are zoomed in on the watch, sometimes it is hard to identify whether the picture is a 39mm or the new 36mm. For those occasions, and for the rest of us, I put together the quick guide below.

This should help visually identify various versions of Explorer from one another:

14270 36mm,
114270 36mm
214270 39mm
124270 36mm

Fastest identifier of 39 vs 36 is the location of Explorer text on the dial, 39 has it at the lower side of the dial while 36 all have it up top (this actually helps 36 dial look more balanced in my opinion.)

For 36mm variety, the newest 124270 model has the Rolex crown at the bottom of the dial, previous 114270 didn't have it. (logs are also narrower on the previous one, but it is not a 'quick' identifier really.)

The 14270 was all over the place really, some with T< dial, some with Swiss only dial, some with female end links, etc.... I think the fastest visual queue is the filling of the 3/6/9 and also if it is T< or Swiss only dial.

Any other things that I have missed?

You need to include the two variations.

Thought about that , Both variations have the Explorer text at the bottom so all 39 can be quickly recognized by that location alone. Of course the white gold 3/6/9 (version I used to own ) is unique enough due to that.
