I have tried it on. It's nice. It just doesn't have a place in my box personally but I can appreciate it.

I understand Longines has an “s” at the end. Sorry for the typo.

Anyone own a Longine Sector watch?
I bought one and I absolutely love it. Its get a lot of wrist time because I really like its classic looks and quality. I have higher end watches in my collection (e.g. Omega Hourview & Railmaster, Cartier Calibre, Rolex OP green dial, Dubey & Schaldenbrand, etc), but the two I find myself wearing the most is the Longines and the Railmaster (striated lack dial with fabric herringbone strap) Regarding the Longines Sector Dial, I got the one with the blue suede strap. The dial is gorgeous, the case is slim and greatfor smaller wrists because the lugs curve down gracefully and to a point rather close to the case. The hands are real heat-treated blued, not paint. That case is all satin brushed finish with a lovely boxed sapphire crystal. The caseback is non exhibition and the ETA based movement is very accurate. If you like classic watches but not the 34mm case sizes, this ought to scratch the itch. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I've had the standard silver dial Longines sector for over a year now and it will never leave my collection. I've always been attracted to sector dial watches and considered both the Patek 5296G-001 and the JLC Master Control Date sector dial in the past but passed on both due to the date window, which ruins the looks of both watches for me. I'm not saying the Longines is comparable in quality to the JLC and certainly not the Patek but based on looks alone, the Longines is the winner in my eyes.
The quality of the watch is excellent and punches above its price point, as do most Swatch Group products. The factory strap isn't great but I ordered the blue strap version, which is better quality than the black strap version, although I've been using the watch on on a light tan suede strap, a Horween cordovan black strap, and a Horween cordovan No. 8 strap. (The new bracelet looks good if that's what you're after but I think this watch really belongs on a strap and it's really a strap monster.) I have no qualms about the ETA movement, unlike the Selita counterparts that my watchmaker advocates avoiding, and it's been extremely accurate. I really like the heat blued hands, the crisp dial with wet printing, the and the all brushed cased and boxed sapphire crystal. It's definitely a great looking watch and really follows the maxim that less is more. The case size is perfect for the watch and would would work well with your wrist size. I thought about the Hodinkee release but I honestly like the standard version better with its sector center and Arabic numerals. The new black version is nice too if that's what you're looking for but I think the watch looks better in its original iteration, although I could see both or all three in a collection. I know that you own both expensive and inexpensive watches but, for what it's worth, this one sits proudly next to my VCs, PPs, ALSs, and JLCs. I also know that you're also considering the tuxedo dial Longines and that's also very nice and one that I too have considered. The rounded all polished case of the tuxedo is lovely but the watch wears larger due to the longer lugs and the sector dial would be the one I would choose if I only wanted one. If you're interested in either or both watches, I don't think you'd have any regrets. |

I pulled the trigger on the Longines Heritage Sector. Pictures to follow. Thank you for your kind reviews.
