Rolex Panda vs AP 38mm Panda?

Just tried this 38mm AP Panda on at a local watch shop and it blew my mind. The fit and finish is truly something special.

Based on nothing more than pure looks, which chrono would you rather have on your wrist? I think I may be leaning AP myself.

Daytona. The lack of in-house movement, non sapphire case back and non-symmetrical date window drive me nuts every time.

For myself, I find both of them a bit small - but based on looks alone I'd pick the AP. Pretty different price points though. For both I'd rather wear an Apple watch than pay grey prices.

Again there’s only 1 panda in those pictures…..but of course AP>Rolex………those pics are perfect to explain why only 1 is a panda…..

Been in the market for the AP, but so hard to break in at an AP boutique without buying a code.

I agree with you…116500 isn’t exactly a panda. 116519 is though

Edit: sorry for the ~ double post.

Own both and I look forward to wearing the 38roc more (I own the grey dial but wish I had a silver/blue as well). That said, the Daytona has its place and is a more purposeful "beater" to worry less about dings and marks.

Yes and I guess common sense would also tell you a panda has to be black and white…..and the AP is blue…..I haven’t been to the zoo in a while but I would bet my bottom dollar they do not have a blue panda……but we’ll let the AP slide lol

The screws on the bezel look a little wonky.

I love both of them but MSRP of AP 26315ST is a lot higher than 116500LN (more than double).

i always say APs need to be seen and tried on in person because they photograph terribly. the daytona is great but i think APs just look and feel more special but they're more delicate. it depends what you intend on doing with it

Daytona.

Just personal preference as the AP is clearly very special. Just never really gelled with them.

Interesting - shows how much fluff there is in the C24 asking prices, which start at $90k for the AP.

Whats with the date on the AP? Looks off center or misaligned?

Anyways to the topic, I can't really consider the AP a Panda w/ those blue sub dials..
