Explorer 124270 suddenly 40 secs slower

My 2021 Explorer has been running consistently at +2 sec/day which I’m perfectly happy with.

However, I noticed yesterday that it was 40 secs behind what it should’ve been compared to my phone. There were 3-4 days where I wore it just a few hours, but to my knowledge it never stopped. Now it seems to run at +2 again.

Just wondering what can cause it to slow down 40 secs over 3-4 days.

That is most probably correct watches always run better when mainspring is kept at peek power-reserve.

As others have said, probably just low power, but it's strange to have lost quite that much, even at low reserve. However, if it's back running as it was before now that it's fully wound, you're probably OK. Just keep an eye on it and report back on it here if you can.
