Vacheron 2215 (stainless sports watch w/ integrated bracelet)

I'm always learning, but I was honestly surprised to happen upon this piece when browsing the web today. The Overseas and its ancestor, the 222, get a lot of attention; I never even knew this one existed, appearing (I believe) right around the same time as the 222, in the mid 70s.

You can see a pic and description (for a long-ago closed auction) here:

https://www.christies.com/lot/lot-60...jectid=6085997

I gather this is not an easy or cheap watch to find nowadays. I'm not seeing a single specimen currently for sale.

To my eyes, it's better looking than the 222 was, and I think I prefer it to most of the more hype-y ss integrated Genta-y watches that have followed, including the modern Overseas. If VC did a reissue of this, it'd be a winner for sure.

Am I the only one who'd never heard of this? Anyone out there own(ed) or ever worn one of these? Curious to know more.

It's part of the CHRONOMETRE ROYAL series.

Recently Mr Porter has one that had been completly the hauled by Vacheron from their collection on sale.

Price has gone wild recently on these.

That's a spot-on description!

Indeed, the Patek 3770 "Nautellipse" might be the closest cognate to this watch--but I prefer this by a good margin.
