When to buy 116508 John mayer?

I've been thinking about buying a John Mayer for many months and am kicking myself for not doing it in November when it was about 75k. A couple weeks ago they were selling at 135k. Now I'm seeing them around $110k. With the watch slowdown, is it worth waiting for this price to drop back into thr 70k range?

What is a John Mayer? Serious question, it looks like a Daytona?

It’s tax time and there’s some uncertainty in the markets with the war, inflation….you know what’s going on.

The prices have come down a bit. Sure they might dip a little more or they might just go up. It’s a market. Don’t expect to see 70k :)

IMHO, I think it’s a fair time to buy grey.

Why is this called the John Mayer, but the white gold blue dial daytona is not? He mentioned that one in the same breath on the video?

For them to be 70k the stainless models will have to be at 20k

I'd guess you have about 6-7 month to buy at a reasonable price

By Q4, the "hype" for Christmas will start, followed by the "super hype" of the "market" for the new 2023 Daytona models. 2023 is 60years for the Daytona. watches mat be changed /discontinued or stay unchanged.

So at current inflation risks / Ukrainian situation etc, you may see a slight correction, nothing much I think but still even 10% is lots of $/

Because of market uncertainty. A watch that was worth $75k three months ago is likely not worth 50% more now. As the stock market slows, inflation and interest rises and crypto stalls, I'd expect a 30% correction at some point. If you watch any of the dealer YouTubes, many are not buying new watches unless it's way below the market value. The market is dropping so fast that they need room to still make a profit if they can't immediately flip.

The John Mayer may be different because there aren't many out there. But I'm also debating because I don't think it's safe to wear a 100k watch in public unless you like the idea of having a gun pointed at your head. I fear the watch would just end up in a safe. I find it to be so irresistibly beautiful, but the chances of it being worth 4 or 500k someday seems unlikely.

The markets are indeed softening at the moment.

The problem how much will prices drop? Right now I think most pieces have dropped 10% - will it drop another 10% or 20% who knows.

But for this gold Daytona to be around $70k - you'd need the SS Daytona go back down to like $30k. Right now they are still at around $45k which is still a drop.

Also ppl will hold onto and ask the highest price for as long as they can. They all bought up and paid massive premiums. Not many sellers would be willing to lose $25k+ on a deal unless they urgently need cash.

Have to agree but many today follow and buy whatever YouTube or so called social media dictates what to buy.

Thanks. Appears to be only one color combination. YG and green dial?

Just like a Paul Newman... If you are popular enough you get a watch named after you.

If you wanted to sell one right now, pretty sure the greys are paying 95-100k to stock them. FYI as a point of reference when you are looking to buy one!

If Grey's are offering 95k, why wouldn't independent sellers go right to the consumer at 105?

much more risk involved on both sides + it's sketchy to pay 105k to an independent stranger

My business partner got a 12% discount on this watch in 2017 from official Rolex AD. I got a 15% discount on the platinum Daytona myself from that same AD. I remember I walked there one day and it was sitting in a case, after some negotiation I picked it up. Good days.
