Would you trade a PAM 104 for 2022 mint 3861 Moonwatch?

Dealer wants the Pam which I have on leather croc and rubber Pam branded straps with box and 1 yr warranty for a mont 2022 3861 sapphire Moonwatch and $2300

Really like the Pam as it is unique to my collection but really want the Speedy!

A Speedy will be my next purchase. Never really got the “Panerai” thing. I owned two over the years but they never stayed long. Go for the Speedy!

I have become very fond of PAMs, so I’d stick with that personally, but the speedy is a cool watch. If you dig the speedy, go for it.

This is a tough one, Justin. Two great watches and it all comes down to personal preference. Would you miss the Panerai? Asking this in the Omega section will likely get more votes for the Speedmaster.

For me personally, that's what I would do here. However, I can certainly appreciate the Panerai and would have a difficult time letting it go.

Think about it for a little while, and if you can't get the Speedmaster out of your head then you should at least strongly consider the trade. Which ever choice makes you the happiest is the right one.

The way I read it....

You really like you PAM. You also want a Speedmaster. 'What we don't have is always where the grass is greener'.

If I were you, I wouldn't. You will enjoy the Speedmaster but the miss the PAM. When you enjoy the Speedy it will remind you of the PAM and you will always have doubts of regret.

Keep it and fund the Speedmaster another way. The Speedmaster will always be available.

Delay gratification. You'll be much better off when you enjoy both watches. Your smile will be bigger.

Speedy all day long!
Easy decision for me since I never got onto Panerai “train” hype thing.

This is what I decided. I will wait and fund the Speedy separately.

Also saw a really cool grey side of the moon Meteorite dial yesterday!

PAM104 + $2300 = Speedy 3861 sapphire sandwich?

I would keep the PAM.

Save up and get the Speedy later. Prices are high now, but they are not limited, Omega will keep making them for years to come.

In a heartbeat, but I’ve never been a fan of the 104. It always seemed a compromise between the classic Panerai models and modern line.
