Taboo question. Any naturalists here?

I understand this is not mainstream so I doubt I will get many responses. Please keep any responses forum appropriate and respectful.

I would be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy the liberation and just shear power to overcome societal constraints by practicing naturalism occasionally.

It was life changing to be nothing but what you are primally and see and interact with others that are down to their primal selves as well.

This is my quandary for those of you that understand.

The place I’ve gone to forever, it is a designated area for people like me. But it has been overran with tourists and gawkers.

Granted there was always the occasional boat coming through trying to see some t and a. But for the most part it was a bunch of like minded individuals from every walk of life coming together to just shed a lot of the constraints society has put on us today.

The place I used to go to was great, granted there was riff raff then but in a different form.
About 3 yrs ago me and my better half were enjoying ourselves. Just on the boat without clothing. A boat full of two families (with kids) rolls up right next to our boat. Granted this is an island and I was the lone boat on the island this day. It also is a practiced rule, “the offshore side is for the people that aren’t practicing and the inshore side is for those that want to shed some clothes” and we were on the inshore side.

I immediately covered up because there was like 6 children on the boat and I did not feel comfortable hanging it all out so to say.

So I asked the lady in charge if they could go elsewhere or to another part of the island because we were not in an acceptable condition for kids to be around. She told me to kick rocks and tried to fight me.

It kind of ruined one place where I could go and just shed everything and go back to my primal self for a little.

Anyone else ever dealt with anything like this? If so, how did you respond moving forward? For the record since that encounter we have not gone back and from what I’ve heard it’s overran with tourists now.

I’ve found some release in a small property we purchased away from everything that only google earth will catch me naked on.

Anyone else here appreciate naturalism?

The only time I feel that "natural" is in the shower. Even then I blush.

But your not hurting anyone and it makes you feel more connected to nature. You do you and the rest can pound sand [like the lady in the 2nd boat].

I’m no stranger. But it’s rare.

Might be time to revisit.

I've tried some nude beaches like the one on Maui called Little Beach. Our shame and issues were probably derived from religious practices and some countries are far more uptight than others.

For some, nudity is correlated with sex so the taboo aspects are rampant.

When I first moved to LA in the 80s there was a hotel which is now a Lowes in Santa Monica overlooking the pier that was preparing to be torn down and were renting rooms very cheaply. It was pretty much empty but there were a few tourist from Europe there and they had zero qualms about the women sitting topless by the pool or everyone stripping right down. I stayed there for 6 weeks.

At first nudity is somewhat shocking but even on nude beaches it all becomes rather ho-hum after a few minutes but the feeling of the water and wind touching your skin is a great feeling.

You get it. Being able to get some sun, water or breeze on areas that the majority of society don’t is liberating to me. It’s not sexual to me, it’s shedding constraints and bucking the system so to say.

I have some Native American ancestry and honestly, I feel like I’m closer to that when I’m enjoying nature for all it has to offer.

Love it. I bought a cabin on 40 acres and I sure as hell wander around in my birthday suit from time to time. We have gotten SO FAR away from primal connections to nature, our bodies, etc. sorry to hear your spot got blown up.

That’s what it is all about!! I am jealous!!

I totally agree with us getting away from our primal selves. That’s why I started this thread. Glad to see someone else out there understands and practices.

My spot got blown up and yeah, it sucks. But now I’ve got my own spot where it’s only me and nature. So, I guess it could have been worse.

I don’t think you did, my understanding and according to the dictionary is Mr Goat is talking about ‘Naturism’. A ‘Naturalist’ is somebody who appreciates nature. That isn’t to say of course that you couldn’t have a naturist naturalist.

I guess the other aspect is nudity at home. Since I left home at 17, I've lived alone occasionally or most often with a significant other and we wear clothes in the house usually but not necessarily always. Never had kids so that was never an issue.

I also have never worn any type of clothing to bed in all those years as well.

Just skin next to soft bamboo sheets. Heaven.

Lol, I’m confused. My understanding is “naturalist” is a more acceptable term for a nudist. I may be wrong though, if so please help me for future interactions.

I'm not into nudism BUT I am firmly against the trend that children and pets should be everywhere. So if you are on a dedicated adult nudist beach or island, a Karen should not be showing up with her brood of kids asking you to cover up. Instead, she should keep her children in appropriate places for children.

Hah, actually, that’s funny. I do not sleep naked. I sleep in my skivvies.

IMO running around inside one’s house is not nearly as liberating as being outside.

She didn’t ask me to cover up. I did because I didn’t think it was appropriate I was swinging it in the wind in front of a few young girls. I would feel uncomfortable when there is any children present in that situation.

Which is actually one of the issues I had with the “island” before it became populated with non nudists. If there was a family and all of the family was running around naked I moved my boat as far outside as possible. Because I didn’t think it was appropriate for children to see a grown man naked.

For clarification. The lady and all on her boat were clothed and were not there for the reason I was.

Got it. Sounds like she still brought her kids to an adult nudist area, which IMO is bad parenting. I’d think a reasonable parent wouldn’t want her kids near a naked TRF member and so would move away on her own without being asked

Honestly, I felt like a side show they came to watch. And yes, terrible parenting IMO. That being said, it’s not posted anywhere that it’s a nudist area. It’s a shoal island you can only get to by boat and it’s a designated seabird sanctuary so you aren’t even allowed to go past the water line.

But I’ve also had a state wildlife officer tie his issued boat up to mine while there. I’m naked and the girl I was dating at the time the same. Never had any problems. He had a crush on the girl I was dating. But there were at least a hundred other people unclothed and none of us got in trouble or were even on his radar.

Nothing better than swimming butt nekkid in a high mountain lake. Provided that your wife understands the concept of “shrinkage”, that is.

Hahahahahahaha, yeah. Quite honestly it’s not about who’s swinging what or how tight a woman’s body is. I’ve seen people out there off all shapes, sizes and ages. Most all embracing themselves at their primal level and just enjoying life.

Only at onsen and ofuro in Japan. It’s interesting because Japanese people tell me that foreigners are all uncomfortable with the idea. So in my case, I AM conforming to the societal norm in that I don’t normally hang out with nude people, but since everyone is doing it…..I’m game.

Well, that’s terrifying but I presume you’re met with screams often. So I guess it works for you? Aren’t you naked most of the time anyway minus the ammo belt?
