Rolex Submariner: Too big or just right?
Hello Rolex experts. I am on the fence about whether to purchase this Rolex Submariner. It is a 2022 model that I believe is 41 inches. Does this look too big on my wrist, or is this how they are supposed to look and fit? Should I instead be looking to a datejust 41, since it will have a slimmer profile, with smaller lugs, given my wrist size? Given how expensive it is, I wouldn't want to purchase it if it is inappropriately sized and will therefore not look classy. I know this is subjective, but hope that we'll be able to gain a consensus here, which will help me make my decision. Thank you very much!

Looks fine to me! I think as long as the lugs don't hang over the edges of the wrist, you can pull it off.

Looks very proportional but coming from a santos and then gmt, I think that the sub may feel bigger, heavier and possibly thicker too. Definitely took me a while to get used to the dial and weight of the watch.

Looks perfect. If that's actually one for sale and has been offered to you, grab it right now because it will be sold to someone else within 5 minutes after you leave the store. One phone call to the next person on the list is all it will take.

Have you ever tried on a DJ41 ? The Submariner looks great on your wrist and is appropriately sized. It wears smaller than the DJ41 and has the same dial size as a DJ36.

If you think it fits, it fits. If you think it doesn't fit, it doesn't. You're the one who will be paying for it and wearing it.

You’re good to go. Pre-congrats!
Just to say, it’s a sports watch. It’s not supposed to look “classy”. |

I think it looks great on you! Perfect size imo. If you like the look of the classic DJ more, then I would go for that instead. Whichever one you like more is the right choice!

The Subdate looks great on your wrist. The DJ41 has a larger dial and will appear a little larger, and of course be more showy especially if you get it with the fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet, although it has a thinner case.

You can pull it off on your wrist... lugs are close to your wrist span but still within the total confine.
I think it comes off very sporty due to the size and overall aesthetic. Still has a certain class to it, but make no mistake the sub is very clearly in the "professional range" and not among the "classic" watches, as per Rolex's own category. Despite being extolled as the ULTIMATE watch on these forums, I do not believe a sub pairs well with a suit or formal attire. In that regard I find something like the OP, Explorer, and DJ to straddle "classic" and "sport watch" in a more versatile way. This is simply my own opinion and one that has been formulated with independent thought.
