You’re nuts Brian

Great to follow you on your trip, looks like an amazing time.

If you haven’t already seen it … head over to the Vatican and take in the sculpture in the square “Angels Unawares”. It is made by a neighbour and guy I went to high school with Tim Schmalz.

My wife and daughter just spent 10 days in Rome and Amalfi wearing her YM in plain sight with no problems. I did tell her to stay out of dark alleys and seedy bars this time though.

Glad you're having a nice vacation, but the fact you haven't gotten robbed doesn't prove anything. Most drunk drivers make it home with no issues.

Thanks, this one had to sit it out today, wearing my new purchase

Strangely that one was safe as well.

Rome and Italy in general is a place you will see many watches on wrists, especially Rolex.
I never had any problem there, you could fine many used watches shops with great choices however they will all tell you never expose your watch as it may attract attention.

That's really cool about your friend! I'll be sure to look for it the next time I'm back in Rome, which might be next October. Is it a temporary piece or will it remain there for a while?

You're welcome

Its a permanent installation and was commissioned by the Vatican.

Here is a picture with my wife taken last October

Nice city but more importantly, nice watch. The Fiftysix complete calendar, especially the blue dial, is so underrated. Mine say hi.

I had no issues in Italy, except for naples, where my watch was taken at knifepoint.

It's great to hear people enjoy their holidays wearing their expensive watches. It's not a problem until it's a problem. Watch crime is real across the globe.

If you're happy with the odds then continue as you are. I just hope none of you become a statistic.

No issues or problems, many people wearing many nice watches including hotel staff, restaurant staff, taxi drivers, tour guides . . .

No one noticed or commented, too warm to wear long sleeves. The only people that noticed were watch salespeople.

Will be taking watches on our next trip in six weeks as well. Time to enjoy

Let’s just say this thread was not made to respect alternative experiences or viewpoints. I hear you, but OP won’t.
