Strange feeling after getting white gold Sub

...is this what it feels like to be satisfied?? Content?

Normally part of my daily routine (multiple times per day) was to to scour the TRF classifieds....see what's out there...checking on the market...seeing what prices were doing on models I was interested in...

I have not opened the classifieds once since I put this WG Sub on my wrist. What else is there for me to look for? I got the watch I always wanted.

Anyone else on here have this very unfamiliar feeling??

Congrats! Great looking watch.

Now be careful, I don't want to see any "oh sht, my sub fell off my shift knob and got scratched" threads

Can you send me that sub and I'll let you know if I get that feeling!

Congrats. Every time I scroll past a picture of that WG sub, I pause and stare for a while.

That’s normal. I was the same way with my SS Daytona. Game over no need to look any more. Like being married to a supermodel that cooks well and likes clean your truck.

Yeah, I've had that feeling too. Lasts a couple of weeks before I start looking at watches again.

Congrats on that beautiful WG Sub. I miss mine.

No, that was all photoshopped...the watch lives in my safe! Are you crazy??

Just kidding!!!! My 2 daily drivers in one photo.

Never even seen one of those IRL, either at an AD or on the wrist. A unicorn even compared to a SS Daytona. But sure looks nice!

The weight of PM on the wrist is so much nicer that SS. I have the WG GMT 'pepsi'- I love it.

Historically you guys would be right. A few months ago I got what I thought was my ultimate "grail". I finally got the AP ROO Diver I thought would be my end game watch, even over and above a PM Rolex. I think after day 2 I was on the classifieds looking at watches. The watch lasted another 3 weeks after that as I tried to talk myself into it all while browsing the classifieds for SS Subs again. So I know the feeling of thinking I'm satisfied, but ending up being. This is different.

Russ, I want to help. Send me your WG sub and I’ll give you my GMT. That way, you’ll start looking at the classifieds again.

See? I’m such a helpful person

Like that you said that. While I grow my collection sometimes I think what if I had just that one, and this would be the one. Good to know this is possible.

Never say never but I am not actively seeking anything currently. I’ve mentioned before if a green or blue OP41 was dropped in my lap I would take it but I am not hounding my SA for one. I am so glad to be over the FOMO I have sometimes exhibited over watches in the past.

I mean....it would give me something to do everyday. A purpose. This may not be a bad option.

You have to get the bracelet fixed on the GMT, first, though.

It is definitely possible. You just have to have one that you love above all others. If not, a collection may be the most satisfying path.

Congratulations Russ.
Being satisfied is a great feeling. I thought the WG DD 40 would do it for me. I really enjoy wearing the DD, but the new WG Sub was still on my mind. Finally pulled the trigger on the Sub a few months ago. It is pretty much my daily now. You picked a winner!

Totally. Being content with what you have is a pretty great feeling.

Unfortunately to get there it was kind of a costly process…that said, you never lose unless you sell…so I guess I’m “ahead” even though my bank account says otherwise.

I really hope that one day I get where you are. I think my grail watch will definitely be a precious metal but every time I buy something after 6 months to a year it’s just another watch or car. I am working on this though and being retired helps a lot.
