If you could only have 2 Rolex models for LIFE.

I’m curious to hear from folks. If you had all the disposable income in the world, access to any model by Rolex, ever. And you COULD NOT SELL the watch, but instead it’s a lifer to wear and enjoy…

Which two references would you choose?

I’m still thinking about it - but I imagine I couldn’t get away with vintage. Or maybe even PM…? Let me think…

But if I have to play along...

I believe it'd be my 126619LB and a WG, blue dial Daytona. Or maybe 126619LB and a WG, Olive Dial DD. That would be a killer combo, too. I'm not a DD guy right now, but maybe I'll become one someday.

The COMEX would be my going to dinner and special occasion watch. The 16618LB would be my daily.

The Newman and the Bo Dai Jackson one. Then use them as collateral thus retaining ownership and buy a new balloon.

If, of course.

Lesson I've often learned the hard way over the years is that I can't really make a decision on a watch until I've actually owned it. Ironic. So as much as I think the Daytona is the ultimate, I've never owned one so I can't say for sure.

So my two would probably be the Sub Date and the Pepsi GMT.

I could be happy with a Submariner 124060 and a PT DD40

I would narrow down to steel Daytona and yellow gold day date.

It's funny you say that. After 15+ years of owning serious watches, I just discovered this about 6 months ago. Now it's basically how I approach everything. Bought my last motorcycle this way as well. Bought it not knowing if I could live with it...but I figured only one way to find out...to live with it. Turned out to be the right call because it ended up replacing the motorcycle that I had that I though I liked more.

I would say, 124060 and 126619LB. If you can't tell, I am a huge fan of Submariners.

Yep, almost same. 20+ years in the hobby and I recently discovered this. I thought the bi-color ceramics on the GMTs were too garish and flashy, and I've completely changed my mind once I actually owned and wore them in everyday situations.

OTOH owning the Explorer I was more disappointing than I imagined it but I also managed to learn something about myself too.

WG Pepsi with blue dial and full RG Sky Dweller with white dial or slate dial.

That's what I'd do this week. Next week? I'll have to get back on that.

These two, or one of them and a Daytona. All 3 is my preference.

Honestly, I think that's the perfect 3. Sub, GMT, Daytona.

That’s all I want, is that asking too much lol! Daytona will be the challenge for me.

Of my current collection - my Daytona 116503 and my Sub 16610.

Of any that exist from the current catalog - maybe a Platona and a Bluesy Sub.

Of any historical models - Paul's Daytona and maybe a Comex Sub.

I guess I think a lot of the Daytona and Sub combination....

YG Sub and a PT DD. I wouldn't care about scratches, dings or any kind of damage from daily wear. If they become uncomfortable due to weight, I'd give them away and get something lighter.

I'm happy with my SS Sub and DJ41. But since you’re asking, I’d probably pick these two:

I just can’t see spending 20k for a TT Daytona when I really want the SS. It is like paying more for a silver medalist, even though I do like them, just not as much.
