Incoming!!

Very pleased to have finally purchased a 5212! I’m considering getting the blue Patek strap as well. I’ve heard rumors that it is possible to get a steel deployant. Does anyone have any info on that?

No, unfortunately Humbertown told me it was many years wait. This is from a collector that purchased it from a Canadian dealer out West.

I’ve been in their store many times but to no avail. It’s been a few days years since my last visit … sounds like nothings changed

Yes you can get a steel deployant. Good info in these threads about how to get one and figure out what you need.

You just need to order the steel deployant and then find a deployant specific strap as tang ones are different.

Congratulations! Great watch. I don't understand why there is a long waiting list for them... Chrono24 is full of them and they sell for amounts close to retail or not moving at all. My friend got it as his first watch in the EU. In London the lead time is something ridiculous like 10 years with average purchase history.

Congratulations.
I asked for this watch at Humbertown and they told me I need a 30k spend history.
Beautiful watch. There's a video on YouTube of an Asian guy who put it on a dark red leather strap and it looks amazing, that's how I would strap mine.

Would you happen to have the link to the video? I would be interested to see this!

I think that a lot of folks would rather buy from the authorized dealer if the watch is selling close to retail with their name on the paperwork than to buy at a grey. Although, I am not hearing of them being readily available at the AD.

Yeah I've been watching these closely on the secondary market. As soon as it's at retail pricing, I'll pull the trigger.

Congrats! The 5212 is my favourite Patek and gets the most wrist time by far. An absolute strap monster that goes equally well with jeans or a suit depending on your mood. Here it is on a glossy blue croc that I think really lifts it another level.

Our biggest issue in Canada is supply on the secondary. I've put a call out with multiple dealers in Canada and there just isn't any stock. Importing from the US, even if the watch is at retail, can put it above retail with duties depending on your province.

That's such a good look. I have seen the 5212 on dark blue and navy straps and they are all awesome.

If you look on Chrono24, we have no stock. All the Ads at Yorkdale must be getting stock. I’d be surprised who is buying all the pieces.

Isn't there only 1 AD in Toronto, Humbertown which is in Etobicoke and not Yorkdale?

Could you provide me a list of good secondary market dealers in Canada?
Past 3 years I've been focussing on Rolex from my AD, now I'm ready to graduate to Patek but I'm not willing to play the game all over again so I'll go grey. However, I'm having a hard time finding reputable dealers in Canada. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

As far as I know Patek does not make a steel deployant buckle and the members here who have posted their watches with a folding clasp bought it in 18kt. WG.

I got an update from a member here, the buckle comes from the 5935 which is a steel world time chrono.

Congrats! It’s a lovely watch. I recently upgraded with the steel deployant and a new strap in this thread: https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=890209
