Is the Silver Dial on a Datejust Underrated?

I wonder if anyone believes that the silver dial is overlooked and underrated. I know the most popular color is blue but how many here prefer the silver?

Love mine. Pictures on the internet don’t do it justice. Lots of bling , but in a good way. Versatile too. I could wear it with anything.

They all look great, but I have to avoid pale dials because I find it difficult to read the time (65yo eyes) so I stick to dark dials.

I wanted what is most versatile. A silver dial met that requirement for me.

Passed on a slate DJ while still waiting on a silver one. It’s 100% my favorite DJ dial.

Sure, non-owners may underrate it! My first Rolex as of just a few weeks ago. It goes with anything, and has just enough bling to catch someone’s eye maybe once. It’s a great watch. I look forward to having a more colorful dial on another piece- but this just screams “classic” to me. I love it.

Amazing pictures of all your watches. I’m trying to understand why it’s so underrated. It’s a neutral that goes well with everything. It’s classy. And it looks good.

The white dial Datejust looks boring. The black one looks nice. The Wimbledon is eye-catching. Rhodium looks ok and the best is beautiful.

I owned the silver dial version.

Loved it but after 8 years I sent it in for a service and swapped the dial to blue.

I think silver gets a lot of love, but certainly not to the degree of the blue and green dial variants. That’s for sure. I’d like to have all them.

I like the silver dial and the white dial. Hard to pick which when I owned DJ II's.

Bought a new silver dial datejust for my oldest daughter, in my eyes one of the most versatile watches out there. My younger daughter has the same watch with rhodium dial, also very versatile but the silver dial goes with absolutely everything.

I forgot to mention about the green dial. Between the blue, green and silver, it’s a hard choice.

Is it too late to join the club? As an owner of the blue DJ as well, I'm leaning towards more to the silver now. Blue is my favorite color too! There is just something special about the silver Rolex dial... Looks white at times, even a little pink as pictured below.
