Help with my first potential purchase
Hey folks, first post here.
I've recently become fascinated with the little Rolex 6426 Oyster Precision and feel it is one model that I could potentially buy. I'd love some advice on the places to look, specifics to look for, things to be wary of etc. when shopping for a 6426. Thanks in advance! |

Check out the Japanese dealers on Chrono24. They have some 6426 head-only pieces for $1600USD or so.

Keep in mind that the 19mm Rolex bands are quite affordable. Look for one that is pretty solid and does have bent up links. The model should be a 7835 oyster or a 78350 solid oyster

I agree with Chrono24, also try eBay. I recommend investing in a Timegrapher for vintage watches. It's less than $200 and can save you thousands.
If your vintage (pre 1990) purchase is running poorly, you can spend an easy $300-800 in a needed service. It will help make purchases" plausible" for watches that may be "a little fast or slow" due to a wonky beat if you only wear them a day to two in rotation. With "badly" running watch (per a timegrapher reading) it can help in your purchase negotiations to account for additional service. Just my 2c Good luck in your search. |
