How soon is too soon

So I’m new to the AP world. A couple months ago visited the AP House in NYC. I was recently allocated a white gold CODE and I love it. However, I’m very interested in a 26240st. I’ve hinted to my SA that this is a watch I’m still interested in but haven’t said it outright. Is it kosher to ask to add this watch to my wishlist after just receiving the CODE? Also what are the odds that I would be able to get allocated 2 watches in a year?

You should have asked while they were running your credit card. Especially after taking a code.

Don’t hint, be very clear what you want exactly (insist on blue or green dial if you like those. And say you would like it sooner than later.

hmmm i think in non blue that may be doable but I think getting a 15510st is another realistic option for you unless they try to push an off shore on you before allocating you a RO or chrono but as always be honest, I think SA's appreciate honesty.

I think having the next ask ready shortly/right after receiving a watch is not unexpected. Let them worry about the rate of allocations (funding aside).

It's never too soon IMO. I think you should let your SA know the pieces you are looking to get in the future and this is a good time. You've already purchased a CODE and an RO should be the logical next step. I would be upfront and honest about where you want this journey to go.

I agree just be straightforward. Say you love and appreciate your Code and that based on your collection and tastes, you’re interested in the ROC as the next step. I’d think it would be very helpful. I

You seem like a polite, patient customer who lacks self entitlement. As such, I’d think go ahead and be more direct.

The whole idea of the AP SA is to sell you more watches in the future. So go ahead and tell them what you are willing to buy.

I email my SA (have to get on a plane to see her), and let her know when I’m interested in something else. I usually start off with another thank you for the previous ones and how much I’m enjoying them and that has worked well with me. I’m usually told it could be a while which I acknowledge and that I’ll be patient. Has worked out well thus far.

Colonel Forbin, I know why you’ve come here! And I'll help you with your quest to gain the knowledge that you lack….just show genuine passion, patience and don’t be pushy.

After receiving a chrono RO this year, I them ask for my next item on the wishlist. And the SA was willing to place it.

Is the general consensus that it's easier to get a 15510 than a 26240?

I’m not sure there is much difference between the two, but that’s anecdotal at best.

Around 2018, ROC was easier than RO (Boutique SA tried to steer me from a 15400 to a 26331). These days, I'd say it's close enough for most dial colors (based on e.g., similar grey market supply, similar premiums (asking)) that luck of the draw is more important than RO vs ROC choice.
