Which duo would you choose?

I'm about done making these threads for you guys... probably. For those unfamiliar, I traded my Pepsi ceramic and Sub 41 LV evenly for a BNIB 116500 white dial Daytona. I've greatly toyed with the idea of already trading the Daytona for something precious metal, but I think I'm going to keep it.

I've sold a few other watches and am about to re-buy one of the traded watches (except this time likely at grey pricing). Either would get me closer to the end of the rainbow I'm chasing. The chosen watch will accompany my 116500 white dial Daytona, and every other watch in my collection isn't very important to me. I'd be going for a dynamic duo. I'll add other pieces down the road (likely having all 3 to be honest), but this will be it for a while.

Sub LV: I was starting to think when I owned this watch that it was a better daily watch than the Pepsi; I wore it 55%+ of the time. 60-min bezel fits my lifestyle better overall than GMT (faster to tell time and time events), and I felt like I didn't have to be as careful with the brushed bracelet as someone who avoids "rough" shirt cuffs. Glidelock clasp also was a dream. The watch felt more integrated with the bracelet/lug design. I felt comfortable wearing it to the beach, snorkeling, fishing--just whatever. I didn't feel this way about my other Rolexes.
This one was special to me as I got it for my 1-year anniversary trip somewhere tropical--great memories.

Pepsi: this watch is especially very near and dear to me sentimentally as I wore this watch to nearly every important event in my life since purchasing in 2019 (most namely wedding). I have both bracelets extra still, so it gives me two looks with one watch. GMT function I like seeing the day elapse, and I can kinda make do timing things with the 24 hour bezel. Jumping hour hand when I travel (only few times a year) was the most satisfying feeling. When I traded my watches, I felt most upset losing this one (mainly sentimental value); it almost made the Sub an afterthought, even though I knew the Sub was more practical to me overall. This watch I guess just felt more inspiring.
Sadly, while I wore the heck out of it, although gently compared to some of you, I never felt as comfortable taking it out to the beach and just living general life in it as I did the Sub because the high-polish centerlinks.
I may could force myself to be a little more adventurous with the Pepsi, but don't think I ever could feel as free as I did with my Sub.
While I had a good fit with it 9/10+ times, occasionally my wrist could expand/contract to something needing further adjustment. With the Sub, I loved being able to do anything and never any fit issue.
The Sub is practical; the Pepsi is cool. The Sub has my brain; the Pepsi may have my heart. Long-term... I don't know!

So, that's where I stand on them today. Pics of them together for quick reference https://imgur.com/a/0uoxoYp

I'm going on 3 months removed from these two watches. Fellow enthusiasts, what would be the better duo in your opinion and why?

In any contest, I will always pick a Submariner over a GMT.

BLRO on jubilee or 116610LV to pair with the white dial Daytona.

The Daytona is a fairly flashy/busy watch, like a lot of chronographs. Personally I'd want a more subdued watch to pair. Your pics really make it clear how much flashier the Pepsi is than the Sub, so I'd strongly prefer the Sub in this pairing.

Pick the one that has more sentimental value to you. From what you have written, it's the BLRO.
That would be my choice if no sentimental value attached.
For a Sub, I'd go 116610LV

I'd revert to your original pair. LV + BLRO.
Sorry, no help from me..

Daytona and Pepsi are both special and make a strong pair.

Surprised at the minimal support the Sub is getting. I like the Hulk, but much prefer the Sub41 dimensions and bracelet… and price tag.

I was pretty sold now on going the direction of the Sub, but now am not sure what to do.

Are you all mainly choosing Pepsi from pure looks perspective? Function definitely is very important to me here. Both have their uses, but think the Sub is probably more practical daily wearer. However, I guess I have my Daytona if I’m trying to time things, so the Pepsi adds more complication that I don’t have. But then I’m losing out on that perfect bracelet!

Not moving backwards. Only would sell the Daytona if I got the 126500.

Same here.

OP, this is why I always advocate add vs. sell to “trade up”. YMMV

I don't like GMT date setting. I really use dive watches in the water. No need to own a watch just because it's popular.

There are some watches I’ve been fine with the the fact I’ve let go. My Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon for example.

I planned to get these watches back and didn’t want to lose them. I just wanted the Daytona more. I’m going to be thrilled to get one of them back.

I say keep the Pepsi for a complication but seems like the Sub LV fits for your daily wear. So I would choose what you love versus value.

GMT date setting not a huge deal to me. Thought it was somewhat fun, and being able to go backwards sometimes can speed the process up some.

Popularity doesn’t matter to me. It’s cool, but if it became out of vogue tomorrow, I would be perfectly fine—actually happy since it would make it easier to get!

I own all 3 of these watches….. if your end game is to own all 3 again then I say start with the LV while the price is down and wait for the BLRO price to come down a bit as well. But if you aren’t planning on all 3 then I say go for the BLRO, hopefully that helped

GMT BLRO--special watch. Not a Daytona fan whatsoever. Go back to where you started. A perfect collection for me is a GMT and diver.
