Daytona 116500LN VS 126500LN
I’m trying to decide if I should take the discontinued Daytona 116500LN if offered it or wait for the new 126500LN to arrive. I don’t see a big difference in the two watches but not sure if the resale value is less on the discontinued Daytona.

I did not know anybody considered turning down a desired dial SS Daytona from an AD.

If there was a choice between the two, I'd probably go for the 126. I like the thinner subdials and the new style bezel. However, the 116 is still beautiful and nearly impossible to get. My answer would be to jump on whichever one they offer you!

Unless you’re an ultra VIP (and if you were, you’d already have your Daytona), then take whatever is offered . No mere mortal is getting a steel 126500 allocation any time soon.

When I first saw that metal rim, I thought it was a tiny detail. Now I think 11-series looks a little unfinished without it. In other words: I think in time you will see a bigger difference, and you'll be happier you bought the updated version. |

depends on the dial colour, I prefer the old white dial and the new black dial.

Both are unicorns for 99.999% of the Earths population. I got my 116500 white in 2017 and have taken it everywhere. This is my grail watch and have no interest in selling or trading it even if a 126500 white becomes available. I prefer the older sleeker, classier look. Now with that said, if my AD offers me a 126500 Black dial i'll be all over it and add it to my collection but my 116500 is still my fav of all time and the longest I've ever owned a watch. Good luck deciding which unicorn to get :). Take whatever you can get.

Its a 116500LN for me, but it all goes down to what you really want.

If buying from an AD, you take whatever SS Daytona your offered. I’m speaking from experience too.
As had been said unless you’re a VVIP then you likely won’t really have a choice as such (not here in the UK anyway). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

For me, the ultimate choice would be the 116500LN. However, the most important factor is to prioritize what you truly desire in a watch.

The 126500 will be very hard to get when they start being delivered and the seconday market prices will be through the roof. Something to keep in mind.
Regardless of that, I prefer the 116500. |

The first offered is the way to go from an AD. I own both of the SS models from the last generation and would not trade or buy the new model. Not enough there to move me.
