Rolex Daytona Dilemma

Do you thing think its a good idea to sell my Daytona and replace it with an IWC 7 days or a Pannie?

As long as it will make you happy. That is all that matters.

No. To be fair, though, you're asking people on a Rolex forom if you should trade a Daytona for a watch of another brand (gasp). But if it makes you happy, then follow your heart.

Not for a pannie, no way, imo. Save for another watch..and then the real question would be IWC vs Pannie, and i would vote IWC.

You have to buy and wear waht you like and are comfortable with. The hunt for the piece you don't have often takes on more meaning than a piece you already have sitting around. IMO, if you sold the Daytona and and bought an IWC or Pannie, the thrill would soon be over, not to mention the long-term value.

You should almost be able to swap it for a 5001 and a Pam 111.

I still wouldn't do it though.

No I wouldn't. Put the daytona in a safe and borrow a panerai for a day if you need 2 days and tell me where your heading next? Is it me? I just dont get the panerai thing?I mean they look good and all but what justifies the price of them? The movement?................ROFL To be honest I had the itch to see what it was all about and I built a homage 1 with all swiss parts unitas movement and all for under $500.00
Its my beater watch now.

...er...TRF

And to the OP, don't do it. You'll just end up regretting it.

"One man's meat...etc''. I don't think there's a right or wrong answer to your question. If you think the IWC or Panerai is going to enjoy greater wrist time than the Daytona, then go for it. Others (myself included) wouldn't do it, but others aren't in your shoes. Do whatever gives you the most satisfaction.

I did exactly that and BIG regret. I sold the IWC & Panerais and now solidly back to Rolex. Couldn't be happier but certainly regret the loss of some serious cash...

I sold my first Daytona and bought a panerai 112 a while ago. Ended up buying a new one 6 weeks later and lost a grand. I really like the Pam but it was/is a little big for me with a 6.5 inch wrist . There is something about having a Daytona or wearing the Daytona that you will miss. First off it great looking watch but maybe its a ego thing. Not sure but Good Luck
