Stock coming in

I registered my interest in a Rolex and the salesman rung and said it was in the shop and to collect it as soon as I could because people knew it was there and kept calling for it. When we went to the store M+P Manchester there were 3 phone calls about my watch while we were in store the salesman said they knew it had arrived into stock because there is a way of doing it on the internet. My question to the forum is does anyone know what site to go on for stock coming into M+P Manchester
Regards Mr t

First of all, congrats! Did you get the watch? I’m assuming this M+P Manchester is an AD? Unless I’m misunderstanding your post, no AD I know of (in the States at least) posts its inventory of Rolex stock online.

Anyway, post some pics if you ended up with the watch!

Stock coming in

Only thing I can think of that makes any sense, is the AD posted the watch on social media.

What is the watch? Don’t make me call them!

Was the watch on display? Word of new arrivals that hit the display cases travels fast.

Reminds me of when I bought a Honda Prelude in about 1989. Salesman took a fake call from another "buyer" while I was doing the paperwork to make sure he cemented the deal with me.

As someone else mentioned who are M+P? Or did you mean Mappin and Webb?

And here I was going to post a story about the time I called a car dealer for this Honda Prelude I really wanted and they told me some other guy was already signing for it

What’s the watch you got? We need pictures!

Stock coming in

I don’t believe any AD anywhere in the world makes their inventory list public knowledge on the internet

So this guy registers an interest in a watch & gets a call to say it’s in but to come & get it as other people know it’s there & want it.

Then asks the forum if they know what the website is that he can go on. To check stock lists????

A newbie fishing for info me thinks

Fake news!

The OP must be referring to Mappin and Webb from my knowledge of Manchester ADs

They have been my AD since 2017 and I’ve no idea how people would know what’s in their inventory? I’m not a massive customer but I did obtain a SS Daytona from them in Jan this year so I must be doing something right.

Interested to know more purely out of curiosity

Welcome. Only thought would be if the AD posted the watch or advertised it on their website.

I had a 1984 Prelude lol. Was handed down to me from my parents, who bought it brand new. They gave it to me in 1990 when I moved to Colorado from NYC.

I had been told at Goldsmiths that each branch can only hold the watch for three days and if it is not sold/picked up they have to forward the watch on to the next branch.

This may be true but doesn’t explain how, according to the OP, the stock levels some how became public knowledge.

Personally I think the OP is full of it & this thread should be locked by the mods

I would suspect that the calls were unsolicited people merely asking about availability on the off-chance, and the salesperson just gave a load of BS in general conversation.
