Submariner, Ref: 5513/5517, Circa 1975

Sold for £200,250 inc. premium

Royal Navy issue.

To my un-educated eye, it seems..... expensive.

exceedingly difficult to get your hands on as it sits at the center of a watch collecting Venn diagram with parameters such as military, diver, sports, Rolex, rare and as cool as it gets…

Is it expensive……yes very. Would I have it? you bet the connections to it being ex military adds to its value and charm and rarity

Would you pay another couple of hundred thousand for a 5517 ?

What price would the market bear for a full specification military-issue 5513, which is much more common ?

Looks to be in spanking condition! Lovely looking thing. Dare I say it; Sub perfection?

Looks like a deal actually if the caseback wasn’t rubbed and matched the mid case.
