Little Rolex

Saw this “little” gem locally. What would you say this is exactly?

That looks terrific. Hey if you want to buy my wife a Rolex Date I'm cool with it.

But seriously that's a beautiful watch for a woman. My wife just doesn't bother wearing a watch most days now and they way she treats the Hamilton I got her convinced me maybe it was a bad move to get her a Rolex. LOL

See, now I focused on that comment based on your edit. Having my 1st cup of coffee today; I wouldn’t have caught it otherwise.

I really wish Rolex still offered the 34 date! Looks great on her.

Thank you my friend

She looked at 36 (too large), 31 too small … this seems to be her sweet spot for a slightly oversized look.

That looks like a "Buckley" dial 34mm OP Date. 90s/00s? Just a shot in the dark based on perceived condition.

White dial with printed (may not be the right word... lacquered?) Roman numerals. Most Rolex dials have sticks, Romans or Arabic indicies that are affixed to the dial. They are a separate thing that are glued in one way or another to the dial, not printed on. IDK why it's called Buckley, that's something I heard here, but a quick search should reveal the answer.

So what is the diameter ?

My daily is a DateJust 36 jubilee given to me by my best friend and comrade in arms. before he passed, knowing he didn't have long.

34mm

If it says 'Date' on the dial, then it's going to be 34mm, while the 36mm would have the Datejust text. They're both technically Datejust, but Rolex differentiated the two sizes by the text on the dial.

I happily wore a 34mm Date for eighteen years. Imagine my surprise when I got here and found out it was too small.

Life is short. Wear what you want.

Nice find OP. I have some general info on this watch.

The Date at 34mm is actually a good vintage size that has been in Rolex lineup for many years. For example, Air King was 34mm without a date complication. It was discounted in around 2020 and I got one of the last one. Really enjoy it.

Regarding the dial, I don’t think it’s considered a Buckley dial, which has a printed railway track and no hour marker beyond the printer Roman numerals. The dial of your watch is a popular design back in the 1990s, and my wife’s 31mm Datejust actually has the same dial design, as shown in the second picture. When I look at it today, it truly has a vintage look. Again great find!
