Oyster Perpetual Yellow discussion

First, I read Oyster Perpetual Yellow was discontinued due to quality control issues relating to uneven color distribution.

DavidSW has two Oyster Perpetual Yellow for sale and they do appear to be different colors.

Secondly, there appears to be conflicting pricing between Oyster Perpetual Tiffany vs Yellow.
On OP 41, Tiffany is more expensive than yellow.
On OP 36, Yellow is more expensive than Tiffany. What gives?

OP 41 in Yellow, Red and Tiffany Blue are all discontinued.
You can still buy a OP 36 in Tiffany Blue.

The red and yellow are discontinued across all sizes

The Yellow dial is discontinued (2022).

Price's have changed a lot over the preceding months along with price descrepances between 36mm and 41mm.
The Tiffany dial was hyped a lot more than Yellow (or Red) but it would appear there are less Yellows around than Tiffany blue, but maybe less desirable by the masses.

The dial changes shade and colour a lot in different lighting conditions. Anything from yellow to almost orange, it's difficult to capture on the camera. Here's a few pics of my 126000

Different exposure. Look at the glove and background.

I suppose this is due to angles, right?

My daughter loved that yellow OP. It would have been a nice college graduation gift, but the run was so short.

Hold on to the yellow if you have one. I’ve been told by multiple ADs that the yellow dial was by far the rarest one they saw. None offered an explanation as to why, but said they saw more of the Tiffany blue dials than the yellows of either size.

It may take years but I think the day will come where the yellow dial fetches the highest premium of any of the OPs.

The one on your right in the first post is the yellow I’m used to seeing, I think it’s the camera exposure. I saw all the new OPs at a September 2020 dealer event.
I ended up getting the last coral red one my Boutique received, they said they got 12 41s during the 18 month run. I wanted a yellow next, didn’t get that chance.

There is just something so special, about yellow dial watches. Remember the popularity of the Seiko Bumble Bee?

It's the lighting. There was another thread regarding this a couple of days ago.

As others have correctly pointed out, the shot on the left is over exposed by the camera; the pic on the right appears to have the correct settings, and thus looks true to the actual color.

Those overexposed photos might help SW move watches but it seems like they disguise exactly what one would be buying.

As I’ve considered a couple of references from the grey market, I skim over any of these listings.

They may as well use stock photos.

Mine was very light yellow. I couldn't make it work, despite the first good impression at the AD. Had to let it go.
