I can't imagine there is any common ground between the things he would wear and things I would wear. If there somehow is, I wouldn't pay a premium because it was owned by him.

He's a rock star from the 70s, of course his taste is flamboyant.

I think most of them will sell for way more than their estimates.

I'd expect nothing less from Sir Elton! The watch collection pairs well with him. Not my cup of tea.

That's not the only reason he's flamboyant mate!

Those watches arent my style but he's one hell of a performer!

One of the best concerts I've even seen was him and Billy Joel "face to face" in the early 2000's.

I saw one of those performances, Rocket Man meets Piano Man, nothing compares.

And I’ll pass on the watches.

USD 40,000 – USD 60,000 for a Daytona Leopard, plus it's owned and worn by Elton John. Yah ok. These estimates are definitely priced low to grab people's attention.

Yeah i never understand auctions.

Misleading estimate, then hammer price + sales tax + buyers premium (26% at cristisies) makes my head spin.

As per cristisies:

"Neither you, nor anyone else, may rely on any estimates as a prediction or guarantee of the actual selling price of a lot or its value for any other purpose"

Exactly, this are grossly underestimated.

FTA:

"Sir Elton's Crash is from the Cartier Paris 1991 limited edition run of 400, a slightly smaller take on the Crash compared to the original London examples. Christie's has an estimate of $70,00–$100,000 on Sir Elton's Crash, but given that the price for a standard Paris Crash is about 2x that estimate, no doubt it'll surpass that estimate."

I think it's cool to see watches like this come up for auction. I'm not a buyer, but still it's interesting to see what someone has in their collection.

There are plenty of people with dubious taste & money. These were meant to be extravagant for a great mission who is extravagant. We are not bidding.

Best of Luck! May your watches fetch at least what you paid for them.

Seeing as he's donating all proceeds to charity I hope they go for a lot more than he paid
