My poor BLRO

Sitting on my front patio enjoying a My Father Robusto and I noticed how my 2019 BLRO is looking pretty beat up on the wrist-down side. Wouldn’t have it any other way. When it goes in for service I’ll have it polished but every scratch has a memory. Enjoy your watches!

I'd take that look over one long scratch anyday

It’s funny but absent a big gash from a specific event, I could not imagine scratches carrying memories.

I consider the memories of wearing a particular watch on a day independent of any damage. Same with my cars, clothes etc. I think - “I remember that drive with my wife” or “my son helping me wash the car”…

Never think “that scratch was when I completed my 2019 tax return” or “when I smacked my arm clumsily on the doorway in my kitchen”…

Still, nice watch!

It will come out like new when the time comes. They should be worn. Looks like a well loved and enjoyed watch.

Absolutely! I spend more time admiring whatever is on my wrist while I am enjoying a nice cigar and bourbon!

To each his own. Enjoy your watch with or without many scratches. For me, I enjoy my collection but I do keep my watches in very good condition, but that’s me.

Silver lining - keep it up and you'll have a brushed surface / center links, and won't have to worry about how fragile PCLs are

(yeah I know it's a jubilee, and oysters have the "center links", just making a joke)

That's the thing about watches you like to wear, they get the tear. My BLRO is the shabbiest Rolex in my collection because it gets the most wrist time. I'd rather have the battle scars than keep it hidden in a safe. Roll on service time.

My BLRO is over five years old now. Still looks pretty pristine…except for the clasp, danged PCLs!

Cape Cod Polish Cloth

No need to wait for servicing to gently polish out the scratches on the clasp.

It’s good not to worry about it and just enjoy it mines got marks on the clasp I have cheated though as I have another bracelet. I enjoy my memories my z blue has come back from service and I asked for if be left as is as it’s my engagement, wedding watch and birth of child so the memories are important to me.

Why? What’s the utility? OP stated he’ll do it when it goes in for servicing.

Its a watch and all watches will get scratched thats a simple fact of wearing them. But all minor wearing scratches easily rectified at normal routine RSC service. And would hardly call your watch a poor BLRO,its just normal wearing scratches. Should have seen my 16600 SD after 5 long years working as a real tool watch underwater seeing mine perhaps you might of had a heart attack. And will add all minor scratches best left to routine normal RSC only no need for any sort DIY polishing cloths.

It still looks great and fits perfectly on your wrist. A good polish will do more honors to an already lovely piece. Wear in good health.

I just assumed everyone's Rolex clasps look like that because my blnr looks identical. I wear my watches no sense in spending on something that sits in a safe as a beauty queen and never worn.
