Patek Philippe 5164A discontinued?

Was looking through the website with the newest price increase, and noticed the 5164A has gone missing. Wondering if anyone is seeing the same thing on your respective website.

Edit: the 5980/1R is gone as well :’(
So as the 5712G.

Perhaps the last year of 5712/1a then before they shift to precious metals or finish up. Though we’ve been saying that for a while :)

I thought they were replacing the world timer with the new Japan novelty with the date pointer.

Probably replaced with updated movement and similar to the Japanese model for exhibition in Tokyo with local time zone

I’m guessing the 5164 will be back with the travel time function working from the crown and not the side pushers, should be a nice looking replacement.

The 5524g would certainly look different also with that treatment :)

doesn't make sense, if they were to do it, they would have discontinued the 5164R as well

weird to have a steel and rg version with the same function but different look

Seems like continuing to phase out the steel sports in favour of precious metal sports.
Bigger margins too. Presumably the last year of the 5164r. The market price of be 5164a still looks pretty reasonable versus the last retail price. It’s a really nice piece.

Well RIP 5164.
Had a deposit down for two years and now my AD also lost Patek as of today ( knew about it for 8 months though)
Honestly. With Patek killing of all their AD’s and not moving their clients across to the remaining AD’s. I’m done with retail Patek. Hope it bites them in the ass but I somehow doubt it.

That would be an awful decision. The pushers are soooo good an easy.

Agreed, the pushers are awesome and balance the case nicely.

I'll be buying one over the next 2-3 months and looking forward to owning

I am always sad to see ADs go. A lot of loyal customers are always hurt by this. I would also think most of these stores, at their cost, built the required Patek boutique sections within their stores.

To me it’s sad because it doesn’t seem like they’re replacing them and in some instances making some markets harder.

I would guess some of these ADs balked at the cost of creating even more stand alone boutique storefronts or space. For those ADs that are doing that, I wonder if they get some conditional guarantee that the brand won’t pull the plug in X years.

I'm confused by this strategy. Closing down a lot of AD's, but yet not opening more boutiques? I wonder where they are going with this. Also, I think leaving all of these clients out to dry when their AD loses status is a bad business model.

What’s funny is that I saw this model in the glass and have tried it on just 2 weeks ago at an AD. Wonder what happens to it now that it’s discontinued. The usual spill is that those watches are for display and once a replacement comes in they sell it.

I wanted a 5164a, but doubted I’d get it. But it was nice to have on that maybe someday view.
