Potential GMT updates?

I know there have been rumors about this and nobody knows until Rolex makes any announcement. Just to share what I learned from my AD during the weekend, GMT allocations are drastically lower than last year. My AD is a chain flagship store and according to my sales they received GMTs almost on a weekly basis last year, but this year it's been trickling in. "Rolex must be doing something to GMT" is what I heard but of course it is still just speculation.

On another note, it seems the availability issue has been improving. Still no sports models for sales, but there were multiple pieces of TT and even SS DJs in the case for sale. My sales said "a lot of DJs are coming in".

Potential GMT updates?

What do they mean by last year? We’re in the first week of February. Are they talking about 2023 vs 2022?

Anecdotally, I think we saw a lot of GMT BLNRs delivered recently (including one for me).

Either way, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a new 41mm GMT released this year.

The YouTube dealers are saying the same thing, no one is selling them new Pepsi's lately.

I think at watches and wonders, a new line up of 41mm GMTs will be revealed. Other than the 1mm size increase(more like 0.6mm based on the difference between the 40 and 41mm sub), I think the Sprite will be discontinued and the new lineup will consist of the BLNR, Pepsi and a new Coke GMT. Not too much longer to find out!.

I also think the bezel might be updated when the watch is along the lines of adding a zero to the single digits.

There's been an influx of BLNR deliveries to compensate for reduced Pepsi's I'd imagine. I'm only seeing one or two late 2023 - early 2024 Pepsi's on the market and those were the ones just sitting in the AD's safe for who knows how long.

The few ADs I've spoken to recently have confirmed they've seen more Daytona SS in the past year than Pepsi AND every one has a BLNR in the case (for exhibition) so at least they're getting them in.

I agree that the GMT line is due for an update away from the current Maxi case. It would once again share a case with the Submariner.

here's to hoping they get the maxi case 2.0 similar in how it hugs the wrist as the new Daytona.

My AD said he doesn’t know shit about what Rolex has planned and no other AD’s do either. He also said they have been getting about the same number of steel pepsis they always have which is very few.

The same AD that told me the GMT LN was being discontinued told me this year that the GMT is going to 41mm, BLNR is moving to WG only, and LN is coming back in SS. Who knows…a broken clock is right twice per day.
