Have I made a mistake
Within 2 weeks of requesting a white Speedy, the OB sends me an email saying they have one for me, unfortunately, Im not able to collect at this moment. They offered to post but I declined. My name is still down for one but will be looking to around September time before I can go up to London and get it.
The OB is great and has said they will sort me out nearer the time.

I wouldn't worry about it. They called me for my spot a few weeks ago and I declined as well. My guess is that it will be more readily available when you're ready in September.
I'm on the fence. I'm just not crazy enough about it to have two (I have the black dial already). |

In this case, not at all. This model will be readily available come late this year. Plus, the extra time maybe gives you some time to go hands on with a friend's or colleague's to ensure it's what you really want. Don't sweat it. |

The white dial Speedy is already trading at or below retail + tax on the grey market if you know where to look. This isn't going to be a hard to get or waitlist reference.

Sounds like somebody doesn’t know where to look.

PS I have seen others too… As for the OP you are fine. These will be plentiful at retail from AD soon enough and already you can buy for similar price on secondary. I passed on one a few weeks back from OB also as felt with my Snoopy I didn’t need another light dial Speedy.

I agree with others, it shouldn’t be problem to pick this reference up at retail. You’re good OP

I own one and really like it. I got mine through a Boutique and was called just the other day from a different Boutique and asked if I wanted one. Very different from Rolex in the allocation game for customers. No problem waiting as I would believe they will continue to be available through the AD's/Boutiques and be readily available by the fall. Not to mention the secondary market.

I figure by fall these will be pretty common at the ADs with little to no wait. I'm hoping these start showing up with a little more regularity at the greys and for at or below MSRP. I want to do a trade, so grey is my best option. But to the OP, I really don't think you made any mistake. These will be easy to get by the end of the year. Omega will start selling them direct from their website later this year I bet. I did a chat with them and they confirmed that they will be offering them direct. They took my name and will notify me when that happens. They gave me no estimate on the timeline, unfortunately.
