Incoming! Explorer II 'Polar'

Long time lurker, second time poster.

Patience paid off. The Rolex journey started in 2019 when I acquired my first Rolex, a nice GMT Master II 116710LN. Took a little hiatus until last year when I started the journey for #2.

My original AD stopped selling Rolex soon after I bought my first, so that was a no go, and the other 2 in town were always a nightmare to try and get anything from. Luckily enough a new AD opened up here, and were taking new clients. Stopped in within their first few weeks of opening, spoke to the Manager, and a wonderful SA and got the profile opened February 2023. I'd stop in every so often to say Hi and check out the new exhibition pieces, and always got the typical answer for stock. It wasn't a big deal, I had time and wanted to go through the full 'hunt' again. Fast forward to yesterday afternoon, kind of forgot about the hunt I was on when I read another user just got their Explorer II, and I thought! Damn, wish that was me. Well later that afternoon, don't I get 'THE CALL'. "We have your watch". Scooted out at lunch time today to pick it up, and add #2 to the collection!

TL:DR- Got the watch!

Way to go Mike!

I actually do remember some posts regarding frustrating experiences people were having in Alberta, so I'm super pumped for you.

Now you have two dual time watches, time for a Diver!

Congrats on the 226570!

The Explorer II was the first Rolex that I purchased for myself back in 2012 for my 30th birthday. Just recently had it serviced. At the time it was a big deal because the orange hand was making a comeback and I recall being one of the first people to get one. Things weren't crazy back then and you could walk into an AD and easily get newly released sports models.

I don't wear mine as much as my other newer professional models, but it still gets worn. Outside of the Submariner Date my parents first gifted me, this watch is the most important in my collection.
