Nah they came from Rolex like that. Rolex used to advertise watches with corporate co-branded dials as a good award for employees:

Thanks for the clarification. This is pretty cool how they use to do this.

It doesn’t need to be another name on the dial. It could be things like variations of a dial. Maybe different markers or hands.

I would not wear a COMEX marked Rolex unless I had been a Diver for them. And I don't speak French. If they put Oceaneering, Taylor Diving and Salvage or Smit Tak on a Sub or SD I would wear that. At least I worked for them as a Diver.

It would still be cool to own a Comex Rolex. Has some great collectibility as a piece.

I get what you mean about wanting to earn your stripes. But if I did this with watches, I wouldn’t even be allowed to own a sub. The deepest I have gone with a sub is to the bottom of my sink while washing dishes

Brand would be Tesla. Models I'm going with either Gisele Bundchen or Heidi Klum.

What's in it for Rolex?

Nothing.

You co-brand to get access to new markets and buyers who haven't heard of your product before. Rolex is one of the most recognizable brands on the planet. Your average person can probably name two watch brands--whatever is on their wrist (odds are it's an Apple, Casio, or Seiko), and Rolex.

There is probably no one in the world who can afford a Rolex who hasn't heard of the brand. Even if you look at what Omega did with 007, it was to get through to the mass market. And that wasn't even a full co-branding, it was a sponsorship and lease of rights to use trademarks.

Lmao no.

They're actually way more similar to the current rolex situation that you think. They sell their box logo cap and Ts at ordinary MSRPs and flippers flip it for an inordinate gains on the secondary market.

I get it, it's fun to hate on Supreme, but Rolex is pretty much the Supreme of the horology world aka massive name recognition which leads to great resale value

Rolex Sub"s and SD's with COMEX on the dial are not really an example of co-branding. Comex helped Rolex develop the Helium Relief Valve used in the SD's and has given real world diving feedback to Rolex. In return Rolex provides Comex with Company logo'ed watches that are issued to some of their Divers. Most of them are required to turn them back in when they leave the company but some manage to leak out. For whatever reason, collectors have gone bonkers over these watches.
